Many Nigerians live in a social media bubbie that shuts them off from reality. How many Nigerians are on social media? Maybe 20 million. Are you aware that there are roughly 70 million Nigerians that do not speak, read, or write English? Research it.

That does not mean they are illiterate. An illiterate is someone that does not know how to read or write. Most people in Southern Nigeria, who can’t speak English are illiterate. But not so in Northern Nigeria. Millions of Northerners who don’t speak English, can read and write in either Arabic or Ajami. It is because of them that Arabic is on our Naira notes.

There is life OUTSIDE social media! These people may not speak English, but they know how to vote. And funny enough, under the rain and under sun, in sickness and in hunger, in peace and in violence they will remain at the polling station until they vote. Meanwhile, can your girlfriend allow sun spoil that her organic cream bleached skin because of ordinary voting?
